I am a teen athlete, looking to improve performance and start exercising I want a workout personalized for me, since I am still growing. However, the area around me has no personal trainers, so I was wondering if there were any trainers on-line who I could ask questions to that are good with teen health and fitness. I prefer they be free. Thanks in advance :)

Write a specific and measurable goal and include two activities you would choose to improve this fitness area. 2. Prenatal health question?

Hey, I’m 21 and 9 weeks pregnant. With my first baby, I gained a lot of weight and ate like a horse. I want this to be a healthy pregnancy. I need advice on prenatal diet and fitness. Like I said, I’m 20, 5′2 and 114 pounds. I;m not afraid of weight gain, I just want to be a healthy mommy. (In case u were wondering, my birthday’s in 8 days, so I consider myself technically 21, when I’m not until the 3rd)

I know Google could probably answer this question, but perhaps people with some actual experience in the health and fitness field could provide me with an “official” answer. I have been dieting and weight-training for about 2-3 months now. I used to weigh 223 lbs 6ft 2 and am a male, with a high body fat %. I have since then dropped to a healthy 187 lbs, and much less body fat %. What I have noticed, from my experiences so far at least, is that eating healthy is 75% of the battle. My goals are to shed a bit more of my “fat” and regain weight as muscle. Mainly, my diet consists of veggies, lean meats (chicken, turkey), tuna for omega 3’s and high protein, shrimp, black beans, cabbage soup, fruit salads, fat-free yogurts, Quaker original oatmeal, occasionally whole grain cereal, fat free protein milkshakes, whole-wheat turkey wraps, egg whites. All of which I do NOT add salt and I try to choose products that are natural and do not contain additives. I also try to keep my fiber and protein intake high, and my carb intake lower, but not eliminating healthy carbs of course. As for my exercise routine, I lift 4 days a week (with proper form and correct reps/sets, and an all-american high school lacrosse player as my “trainer”) as well as run a warm-up 2mile run pre-workout. I also play competitive basketball usually 3 times a week. Feel free to throw in any suggestions as to what types of foods I should incorporate or take out. If you can, let me know if this is a pretty “solid” diet for someone who is looking to still shed a few pounds while also gaining muscle. Should I stay away from fruits with higher carb counts such as bananas, etc? Should I stick with a very low-carb diet or continue to do what I am doing. Iv’e noticed that I started to incorporate more carbs into my diet but all of them are considered the “healthier” carbs. I just don’t want to stalemate and would like to continue to see progress. So I need help improving my English essay. Here it is: According to the World Health Organization, about a quarter of youth alive in the Western Pacific region will die from smoking. Nearly 20 percent of 12th graders, 12 percent of 10th graders and 5.5 percent of 8th graders smoke cigarettes daily. Just imagine, that could be your child, student, brother, or sister. Each day, almost 6,000 adolescents under the age of 18 start to smoke, and approximately 2,000 will become regular smokers. That is almost 800,000 annually! Now, I know I have said I will not be dumb enough to start smoking, but there are kids that do it due to peer pressure or other insanities. Most parents try to take care of their kids by talking to them, letting them know how bad using drugs is, but some kids just don’t understand. If the current use of tobacco continues among these young people and children, these youngsters and children will end up with horrible health problems such as, cough and phlegm production, and increase in the number and severity of respiratory illnesses, decreased physical fitness, which keeps growing every day, an unfavorable lipid profile and potential retardation in the rate of lung growth and the level of maximum lung function. To me, this is way more than a normal person in two lifetimes would get. The young people don’t think about the consequences of their actions, not to mention the children that start not even before they start high school. Among young teens, ages 13 through 15, about one in five smokes worldwide. Just imagine those numbers. That is a lot of kids if you ask me. There has been evidence that shows that around 50% of those who start smoking in adolescent years go on to smoke 15 to 20 years. One of the main reasons teens begin smoking is because they want to imitate another smoking teen of whom they admire. I don’t understand why kids want to be like others when they were made so perfectly. I say a person is cool when they can be themselves and not worry what everyone else is doing. All peer pressure is between teens; approximately 90 percent of smokers begin smoking before the age of 21. According to a national survey that was taken in 2001 for high school students, the overall prevalence of current cigarette use was 28 percent. For children and teens that smoke at an early age, it’s harder for them to quit, just as much as long-time smokers. Once a child or teenager smoke at least 100 cigarettes in their life time, they say they are going to quit but they can’t, it’s impossible because they are already addicted. Understanding this topic makes it easier for anyone to not want to smoke. Some may get more influenced, but the wise ones will understand and not do it. I find it really easy to say no. I hope others find it as easy as I do. The reason for this is because most kids do it out of pressure, even if they don’t want to do it, they do it because they are afraid they won’t be liked, or they’ll be made fun of. I personally understand them because I have been around lots of kids like that. I just hope they make the right decisions no matter what happens.

I’m 16 years old and I am on this health kick and have decided I really want to get in shape and lose some weight. I made a binder filled with all of the workouts I have from Seventeen magazine, and I do one or two of the workouts a day, along with some cardio on the treadmill. Do these actually work, and if I stick to them are they actually going to give me the results they promise? Preferably someone with experience, or someone who knows alot about fitness and exercise. The main reason I ask is because most health guidelines will tell you to get AT LEAST 60 minutes of physical activity in a day, and these exercises are designed to only take you 20-30 minutes, so I feel like they may not be working. Thank you!
